Education Committee

ADVOCACY

July 2007 Wrote NYS Education Department expressing concern with NYC's Contract for Excellence proposals

The Women's City Club of New York has had a long-standing commitment to improving public education opportunities in New York City. Some of its priorities have been to support smaller class size and fair funding of New York City's public schools, to oppose tax-payer vouchers in non-public schools, and to monitor the effects of No Child Left Behind. At this time, due to a convergence of factors, the WCC Education Committee will be dormant for a period of time. We ask that you periodically visit this web page, or call the WCC office (212.353.8070) for updates and more information about how and when the committee will be revitalized. In the meantime, we welcome your views and concerns about public education in New York City. Please email us at info@wccny.org, and place "Comments on NYC Public Education" in the subject line.
