Poverty remains a significant problem in New York State. As the income gap grows wider in New York City, WCC is committed to reducing income inequality and ensuring equal opportunity across all five boroughs.

In 1924: WCC launched a campaign for a 48-hour work week so that women could better support their families and themselves.

Today: WCC’s Task Force on Fair Work and Predictability supports legislation to provide New York City workers with greater flexibility in managing their families and more predictability in their work schedules.
