"Team play is central to the WCC, more so than any other organizations I’ve known. Working with colleagues and friends whom I love and respect to advocate for causes I believe in is satisfying. That and the influence of those who came before us make me feel very privileged."
-the late Elizabeth Kempton, member 1966-2004

• Are you a devoted New Yorker with little time but lots of interest in the civic issues that affect your daily life?
• Do you want to meet others with similar interests to learn more about public policy decision making?
• Would you like to participate in advocacy efforts to make New York a better place to live?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining the WOMEN’S CITY CLUB OF NEW YORK, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, founded in 1915, that shapes public policy through education, advocacy and citizen participation. As a member, you will be part of a unique civic organization whose early members, such as Eleanor Roosevelt, were prominent forces in American history and whose current members have been called by public officials, “reasoned citizen-advocates who know the way to City Hall.” As a member
You will receive hands-on experience with public policy issues through
• free admission to our twice per month public programs that discuss and debate civic issues
• free subscriptions to our quarterly magazine AGENDA; monthly CALENDAR and member newsletter
• ACTION ALERT emails about current and emerging policy and legislative issues
• access to elected and public officials
• the opportunity to serve on one or more of our committees that advocate for improved access to health care, smaller classes and better funded schools, more affordable housing, informed urban planning, reproductive justice and equality for women, social programs that lift people out of poverty, preservation of New York’s cultural and historic heritage, and government reforms to ensure accountability and transparency. As a member
We will give you a voice in what matters to you, and your voice will strengthen ours as we work to promote policies of fairness, equity and inclusion for all New Yorkers. And, as a member
You will decide how much time and effort you can give.
